What does it mean for Reuben Abati as Dr Okupe is appointed SSA on public affairs?

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday appointed Dr. Doyin Okupe as his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs. The medical doctor was former spokesman to President Obasanjo.

Reuben Abati is Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Jonathan, now there's a Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs...is there a any difference in their respective duties?

Falling container crushes pedestrian in Ogun

 

A female pedestrian was crushed on Thursday morning at Kara Bus Stop, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by a container after it fell from a moving trailer.

The trailer was heading out of Lagos around 7am when it lost one of its tyres, making the driver to lose control of the truck momentarily.

Dear AAB Readers: Is it okay to keep in touch with an ex?

Please is it okay to keep intouch with an ex? My wife thinks its not right and has been fighting me for communicating with my exs. One is married while the other is still single. The married one is the one that calls often. They call to check on me and to ask for advise and I also call them to know how they are doing. I don't think there is anything wrong with it but my wife is fighting me about it. Please will like to know other people's opinion on this. Thanks

Gunmen kill 2 Indians, three others in Maiduguri

Two Indians and three other people were killed yesterday Wednesday July 25th by suspected members of terrorist sect, Boko Haram. Two Indians were killed and one injured when unknown gunmen stormed an Indian owned factory located at Bayan Quarters in Maiduguri yesterday, while the other three, two policemen and a civilian, were killed in attacks on a police station and a local government office in the state same day.

Turai Yar’Adua & Patience Jonathan to settle land dispute out of court

 

You hear some things and you shake your head. Our former first lady, Turai Yar'Adua and current first lady, Patience Jonathan took themselves to court over a property they are both squabbling over. And to save the country from further embarrassment, the Attorney General of the Federation has asked the court handling the case to discontinue further hearing on the case.

The property in dispute is located in the central business district of Abuja and was originally allocated to a Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, “The Registered Trustee of Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation, WYEF”, a pet project initiated by Turai Yar’Adua.

After Turai left as First Lady, the property was revoked by the FCT minister and re-awarded to Dame Patience Jonathan for the construction of a secretariat of the “First Ladies Peace Mission.”

Turai has been promised any alternative property of her choice in the business district in the FCT as compensation.
