Yakowa’s Wife To Emerge As Deputy Governor

The widow of the late governor of Kaduna State, Mrs Amina Elizabeth Yakowa, is set to emerge the deputy governor of the state following the death of her husband in a helicopter crash on Saturday.

The plan to tap Amina as the deputy to the newly sworn-in governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, is being championed by northern governors across party divide, top northern politicians and governors from other regions of the country with the aim of sustaining Yekowa’s legacies.

Those promoting the move to install Yakowa’s wife could meet with President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo later this week.

The insisted that Mrs Yakowa was the best candidate for the position. She was a former deputy director at the Ministry of Defence and only retired after her husband became governor.

The promoters said they were also inspired by the example of the wife of the former Senate President, Mrs Margery Okadigbo, who emerged to take over her husband’s slot in the Senate. They also alluded to the recent example of a former Senator from Plateau State, Sen. Gyang Dantong, who was similarly succeeded by his wife, after he was killed by gunmen at a funeral in the state.

Mrs Yakowa was born on May 20, 1953 in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government of Kaduna State.

An educationist, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Your Baby Does Not Look Like Me At All – Dino Replies Bisi Ibidapo

The saga continues! While actress Bisi Ibidapo is telling whoever cares to listen that former House of Reps member, Dino Melaye is the father of her new baby, the man was said to have told some friends recently that he doesn't know where Bisi got her pregnancy from.

See how Dino reacted to the new baby drama below:
"Don't joke with such a serious issue. I don't know where she got the pregnancy from, the baby doesn't look like me, I can bet it. I am sure DNA will exonerate me from this ugly scenario."

Obviously someone is lying among this two 'strange' lovers.

PDP Won't Escape Defeat In 2015 as ACN, CPC, ANPP Form Party

The three major opposition political parties in Nigeria - Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party – are set to drop their identities by early 2013, all things being equal.

The merger of the parties is one of the strategies being canvassed by top politicians to defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party which has dominated power since the advent of the present democratic dispensation in 1999.

Analysts had always believed that a genuine and honest cooperation among major opposition parties for the 2015 general elections would make the election tough for the PDP.

“We have passed through this before when we were All Peoples Party and then Action Congress too, before it became ACN.

“The difference now is to pass a resolution and all this will be simultaneously done (by the three parties) and we will inform INEC about it. When that is done, INEC has no choice than to register your new identity,” said Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Chairman of the ANPP National Rebuilding and Interparty Contact Committee.

In the alternative, he said the parties might decide to adopt the name of one of the existing political parties while the remaining two would dissolve into the adopted one.

Asked if they've learnt any lesson from their failed ambition to merge in 2011, Shekarau said ‘Yes’

Fashola arrests policeman riding ‘okada’ on express road

Governor Fashola yesterday Thursday November 29th ordered the arrest of a policeman riding a motorcycle on Lagos/Abeokuta expressway.

The governor spotted the policeman when his convoy was passing on the Ikeja section of the expressway. Policemen in the governor’s convoy effected the arrest and immediately whisked him away in their van.

Fashola later told newsmen that the arrest was to serve as a deterrent to those who felt that they were above the law and so could break the state’s laws.

“There is no one above the law in the state. People who are not prepared to obey our laws should leave the state.

“There is no society where laws are not broken, but the state government would continue to increase its enforcement so that there will be high level of compliance”, he said. (PM News)

Woman goes nude to prove a point at a board meeting

During a hearing of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ Neighborhood Services Committee in which officials discussed a ban on public nudity, nudity activist Gypsy Taub stepped up to the podium and addressed the committee.

“Nudity does not harm children,” she said. “Have you ever seen a child cry because they saw a naked person? What do children do when they see naked people? They laugh. It makes them happy, it doesn’t traumatize them. Nudity is natural and harmless. Our bodies are God’s gift and God doesn’t make mistakes. Attacking our right to be nude is an attack on sacredness, beauty, love freedom, art and creative self-expression.”

Taub then removed her dress, revealing a nary an undergarment, and declared, “attacks on body freedom are unconstitutional and un-American.” She was quickly escorted out of the room by police officers while chanting, “Up with body freedom, down with Scott Wiener.” Naturally, Taub was greeted with a rousing round of applause–probably for a whole variety of reasons.

In the hallway outside the committee room, Taub was detained by police and eventually put her clothes back on. “Nudity does not harm anyone,” she added. “It’s people’s actions and not people’s bodies that harm people. Clothes have never stopped anyone from sexual harassment; they have not stopped anyone from raping; clothes have never stopped anyone form getting raped. It is nothing to do with clothes, it has to do with people’s actions.” The San Francisco Chronicle notes that Taub had sent out press release to various media outlets announcing her intention to disrobe during the meeting.

Jonathan Would Leave Office In 2015 — OBJ

At 75 Obasanjo is alleged to be seriously concerned about the direction of the country. But even more, the former president is said to be worried about the import of President Jonathan seeking another term in office in 2015 and the consequences of that on the polity.

Obasanjo it is believed to have assured northern political stakeholders ahead of the 2011 general elections that President Jonathan would exit in 2015 and allow the presidency to return to the north.

However, no sooner than after the last presidential elections the former president it was learnt began to sense plans by President Jonathan to seek a second term in 2015 and allegedly became discomfited over the development.

Whether Obasanjo voiced his objection to the incumbent president is not known, but his action in resigning from the Board of Trustees of the PDP is believed to be his first action to distance himself from the collateral damages that may ensue from whatever plans Jonathan has for a second term.

Known for his nationalistic tendencies, Obasanjo it was learnt, believes that at 75 he still has one last mission to prevent Jonathan from self destruction or destruction of the polity through a second term.

The mosque project was perhaps the first in the unfolding strategy of Obasanjo, an Owu-born Christian.

CBN issues FirstRand with merchant bank licence

Nigeria's central bank has issued the country's first merchant banking licences in more than a decade to South Africa's FirstRand and local firm FSDH, it said on Friday. They are the first since the

regulatory distinction between merchant and commercial banking was axed twelve years ago.
Following many Western countries, Nigeria allowed commercial and investment banks to merge their operations in 2000.
But it scrapped this universal banking model two years ago in the wake of a financial crisis that nearly sank nine lenders and forced the central bank to spend $4 billion in a rescue.
The country has now reverted to having a firewall between retail banking and the speculative capital market business.
"We have issued banking licence to Rand Merchant bank Nigeria and FSDH to operate as merchant Bank," Ugochukwu Okoroafor, the central bank's director of communication, said.
FirstRand declined to comment on the license while FSDH, which currently runs asset management operations in Nigeria, said it will start merchant banking operations by the first quarter of next year.

Distressed Savannah Bank gets $11 Million To Resume Operations

Distressed Savannah Bank gets $11 Million To Resume Operations

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has disbursed 1.072 billion naira ($11 million) to former distressed bank, Savannah Bank of Nigeria (SBN), to facilitate its return into the Nigeria financial

market.

According to a statement released on Wednesday in its 2011 Annual Report and Statement of Accounts, the NDIC released 450 million naira ($2.8 million) to the bank in 2009 and a balance of 460 million ($3 million). Another $1.029 million (162 million naira) belonging to the bank was also released in 2011.
The report indicated that the cumulative recovery of assets of closed banks in liquidation had reached about 22.236 billion naira ($141 million) in 2011 – representing a 2 percent increase compared to about 21.756 billion naira ($138 million) recovery made in 2010.
A total sum of 13.48 million naira ($85, 558) had also been recovered from closed microfinance banks as at December, 2011, the report shows.
While appraising the corporation's activities in the period under review, Managing Director/Chief Executive, NDIC, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, said the commission commenced payment of insured deposits to the depositors of Triumph and Fortune Banks) which were closed in 2006.
He stated that about 26 million naira ($165, 027) out of 804.35 million naira ($5.1 million) had been paid to 656 depositors of Fortune Bank in-liquidation while about 1.6 million naira ($10, 155) out of 45.36 million naira ($287, 908) had been paid to 35 depositors of Triumph Bank in-liquidation as at December 2011.
According to the NDIC boss, "The NDIC had in the last one year recorded notable achievements in the protection of depositors and promotion of safe, sound and stable banking system in Nigeria.
"There is ample evidence that with careful formulation and adoption of appropriate strategies, the management and staff of the corporation are committed to ensuring that the corporation fulfills its statutory mandate. The corporation is committed to remain an active component of the Nigerian financial safety-net, particularly in the area of engendering confidence and contributing to financial system stability," he added.
Ibrahim said: "It is heartwarming to indicate that during the year under review, 3 additional banks in-liquidation, namely : Co-operative and Commerce Bank, Commercial Trust Bank and Ivory Merchant Bank, had declared a final dividend of 100 percent of total deposits. With that development, 14 of the 34 liquidated banks, prior to 2006, had declared a final dividend of 100 percent of total deposits, indicating that all their depositors would fully recover their deposits trapped in the banks."
Meanwhile the corporation enhanced the pace of debt recovery as well as payment of uninsured deposits by appointing a number of debt recovery agents and offering for purchase 13 eligible bank assets with total book value of 3.85 billion naira ($24.4 million) to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) to boost recovery and facilitate payment last year.

I'm Pregnant After Sleeping With Him for 4 Years But He Refuses To Marry Me

I have always wanted to get married in my final year; I'm a final year student in one of the university in south south. I have been dating this guy for almost five years. I asked him his plan for our relationship, he didn’t give me any good answer so I had to lie that I am pregnant.

He begged me that he had it in mind to settle down with me next year, I was so happy couldn’t even tell him that I lied about it…he begged me to go for a DNC.

I agreed because I knew there was noting, weeks later I discovered that I was really pregnant after telling him I have gone for DNC, now I had to tell him I lied 2 him.

He called everything off. AM SO CONFUSE, he said he can’t get married to a LAIR but the relationship should go on (that is we can continue to have sex if I dont mind).

What Should I do please?

Why Sanusi Must Be Sacked Immediately

“Since assumption of office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, all Sanusi’s major pronouncements have been either directly anti people or ruinous to the Nigerian economy.

“Today, there are countless probe reports with names of those who swindled our country of several trillions of naira and other foreign currencies still living in Nigeria either walking freely around the corridors of power or directly holding public or political offices rather than being in jail.

“We see in Sanusi an agent of death that must be defeated and crushed before he further destroys the Nigerian economy. While President Jonathan is promising to create more jobs, Lamido Sanusi is calling for mass sack of civil servants in a country with one of the highest number of unemployed, which has indeed led to gross deprivation and the current state of insecurity in Nigeria. While we believe the Federal Government will ignore the ranting of this hollow economist, Sanusi has never demonstrated patriotism in all his advice on economic and financial management in Nigeria.

“Sanusi’s only understanding of governance is simply about saving money and not saving lives as his proposals are repeatedly devoid of human content and without consideration for the implications on larger society. The burden that will come with mass sack as high as 50 per cent of civil servants in addition to the already saturated unemployment market can better be imagined.

Governance is about improving the quality of lives of the people and not destruction of productive lives.”

- This is the position of the chairman of NLC, Abdulwahid Omar, while stressing that, “Sanusi was never qualified for the office of CBN governor in the first instance, and he must be asked to leave the office as he has shown more than enough incompetence and contempt for the Nigerian people.”

Recall that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi had, on Tuesday, advised the Federal Government to sack half of its work force, claiming that Nigeria could not build its economy when 70 per cent of its earnings went to salaries and entitlements of civil servants.

The question for Sanusi is, how much does the government spend on political appointees and public office holders like himself?

FEC approves N2.2bn 150-seater banquet hall for Aso Rock Villa

The federal government of Nigeria wants to spend over two billion Naira for a 150-seater banquet hall. Not a 5, 000-seater hall o, just 150 seats! Does that make sense to you guys?

Meanwhile, there's an existing banquet hall in the Villa o. This one is just to waste money and share the remaining.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed, said the proposed hall, which will be constructed by Julius Berger, will have walk ways, security post, hall conveniences, technical room and press briefing room. For N2.2bn?

Isn't there a way civil societies in Nigeria can stop all these unnecessarily spending by taking the federal government to court? Isn't there a way, we as citizens, can check our government?

Beauty of the day: Princess Chineke

Princess Chineke and I used to model back in the day. Nice to know she's still in the business. The stunning model/actress will be celebrating her 10years in the modelling world on Saturday December 1st,

Oooops! How can I stop having sex with my brother-in-law?

I think I have had it enough, and it’s even becoming more habitual as I always have a fast one with him even when my husband is in the house. My fear is that my husband will soon understand the gimmicks, if we continue in the escapade.

I’m very sorry to say this, but I think I’m an addict, as I get to my pick when I cheat on my husband. I also enjoy it more when it’s done swiftly; just that alone satisfies my libido. However, the reason why I’m so attached to this guy is because he is a complete man. No man can do what he does to me; in fact, it’s unspeakable.

When I met my husband 10 years ago, I knew he was my kind of man, as he was able to satisfy me the very night...
we met. We both met in one of the universities in the North. We got married just 3 years ago and here I’m trying to battle out of some addiction. I know it’s shameful, but it’s really hard for me to fight.

I had vowed never to be callous to him in any way until his younger brother finished his University program and came into our house last year. Two months after he got into that house, the entire story changed. We had our first night when my husband went on an official trip. I can’t give you the details of how it all happened, but it was the most regrettable night, as I regretted my action after then. We both concealed it, and pretended nothing ever happened, but from that moment, and even as my husband returned, he has not been able to satisfy me the way his brother did. This has kept me glued to his brother. Most of the time, I sneak out of bed to the toilet at nigh where we normally meet to do the dirty thing.

I will deliberately wake my husband when he is at the pick of his sleep, informing him that I was going to the toilet. I would always make sure I get back to the room within 5 minutes, but I tell you, I often return satisfied.

I’m gradually losing my joy and dignity as a married woman because of this development. It’s even becoming a daily occurrence, especially now that my shop has been closed permanently due to the ongoing crisis around my area, and I’m always at home with him in the morning. In fact, even as I write this note, I just doubt if we won’t have it the whole of today. I’m really not happy doing this, and I can’t even tell my husband. I know that the very moment he gets hold of the truth, he will throw me out of the house. I won’t tell him, I will protect my marriage. The brother is just so comfortable with what we are doing, as he has never discussed the negative side of our rough game with me. But the problem is that, at the most quiet time, especially when we are alone, and we look at each other, we just can’t stop doing it.\

Sex Scandal, BlackBerry Chat Crashes Nollywood Actress' Marriage

This is another classic movie from Nollywood but this time the story and characters are real life and the story has branches. Sit back and enjoy the premiere of the movie entitled "Husband snatching na crime?"

Here it goes: Thelma Ozy is a pretty make-up artiste in Nollywood and the ex-girl friend of comedian and on-air radio personality, Steve Onu (a.k.a Yaw).

A year ago, there was buzz online and in Nollywood that Thelma was dating A-list actor, Segun Arinze and almost crashed his marriage to Schlumberger lawyer, Julie. Insiders confirmed it took prayer and fasting to get Thelma off Segun's arms. This led to Yaw dumping Thelma. And as you read this, Yaw and Segun do not speak!

Thelma is in the news again and this time she has crashed the marriage of her best friend, actress Gloria Mba, whose Marriage was contracted to Houston-based, Leo Kanu on March 27, 2011. Gloria announced, via her facebook handle that her marriage had crashed.

Insiders informed us that Thelma and Leo, who have been having phone sex met in Berlin (Germany) and consummated the affair. The trip was all expenses covered by Leo, the smitten lover boy.

We contacted Gloria on Sunday, Novembar 25, 2012 and after asking her questions she cuts the call after denying that her marriage has crashed. We called back and rephrased the questions and sighing deeply she opened up, "Yes my marriage is over and yes, Thelma is part of the reason it crashed."

We asked her what happened and what role Thelma played in the crash. "I read Thelma and Leo's mails to each other and Thelma didn't know I knew they are dating. I bumped into his inbox. We have our passwords and I just wanted to check, I never bothered to check all this while out of trust. But I just got curious and checked it and got a shocker."

We asked her to copy us the mail and if she confront Thelma when the marriage is already over and she said: "No, I cannot copy you the email. I just want to move on. My ex-husband's friend asked me to confront them but there's no need because it will change nothing. I took Thelma like my own sister and we were so close."

To be fair, we called Thelma and here's what went down, "Thelma, we heard you crashed your friend, Gloria Mba's marriage.

Her response: "Oh my goodness, this is not real (laughing) Is her marriage crashed? Has she called me? I know her husband and I was at their wedding. Oh my God."

Thelma, we heard you have been mailing Gloria's husband and having phone sex with him. Is this true?"

Thelma dropped the phone and we called back but she refused to pick the phone, despite the number of times we tried.

Dear readers: Should I tell my husband that my sister is actually my daughter?

I currently live in the UK and I am married to the most loving guy that I can ever think of, trust me I have been around so I know the attribute of the word "most loving guy" though all is not perfect at the moment but the dilemma now is that I am stuck between my mother, myself, my husband and our four months old baby and I really think I have made a very serious mistake courtesy of mother and all her advice.
I have known my husband for close to 12 years and of which have been married now for 2yrs. Unknowingly to my husband I had a baby for my secondary school love just after I finish my SS3 exams in Nigeria, and with the help of my mother we were able hide this from everyone apart from my immediate family because my then boyfriend denied the pregnancy and my mother did not want word to get out the her most precious teenage child has become pregnant.

To cut the long story short, I gave birth to my first baby girl in a very small town in one of my mothers numerous friend's village, and my mother flew me abroad shortly after, and my baby was given to an Orphanage home near Port Harcourt run by again one of my mother numerous friends.

Anyway, that was such a long time ago now cos I am now a hard working girl living in the United Kingdom with a very good job at a blue chip company, and my baby girl Uju who is almost 13yrs old was brought up at the orphanage until she was six years old, then my mother who had moved to Lagos return to PH, and adopted my little girl and even till today my little girl doesn't know her mother she think my mother is the God sent woman who rescued her from the Orphanage and she is a good girl, she lives with my mum in PH as my  junior sister and she calls me her elder sister.

I forgot to add that a childhood history is very similar to this, through my childhood I think my mum had at least four husband or live in partners, I have four siblings and only the two eldest are apparently from the same father, and all our fathers abandoned us and do not want any thing to do with us even to this day after establishing contacts with them when we grew into adults, my mum says they were all bad men but now that I am much older I am beginning to doubt, she has always told us that our father absconded when they was no money but that was until she started telling us who our real father is, I only knew mine two years ago and I have made contacts but my real father is not interested at all, even to meet me or talk on the phone talkless of my mum, but my mum said that he has always been a bad man and that it is because she loved all of us that made her bring us up all alone by herself when all the men in her life left for dead.

As I was saying, in my early childhood I also was sent to the orphanage till about the age of four years before I was brought to a new house with my mum and siblings and we were calling my mum "aunty" because she had told her current boyfriend/partner that we were her own younger siblings and she had lost her own parents and was charged with the responsibility of looking after all five of her younger brothers and sisters (three girls and two boys).  Things became OK for a while until my mum's boyfriend found out and accused also her infidelity, my mother's boyfriend who we used to call Uncle threw all of us in the street in the full glare and jeers of the whole neighborhood, that day remains one of the most embarrassing days of life till date.

My eldest brother once told me that they have had to deal a lot more than myself in regards to my mum lies being found out that my own father whom I never really knew also threw all of us out the house because our mum was found out of the same lies and that was why I was sent to the orphanage because they were homeless at some time, and that half of the people I called my uncles then were actually our mum's sleeping partners and they (my elder sibblings, I am the last btw) used to hear when they were having sex with mum, and if they tried to confront her that mum used to beat the hell out of them and send them out to look for food and not return until they have money for food and school fees.

The funny thing is that I have sat down and looked at my mother life and I do not want to have that kind of life, today my mother can be said to be very comfortable but I do not think she is very happy, I think she is very lonely and unhappy though knowing my mum she will never admit and its the same with all her numerous friends, they are all sad and unhappy with their current situation, some have been accused of their husband's death to take over properties, the others either their husbands have left and never returned or nonchalant to their well being, then with all their children being totally disrespectful to them, all having problems in their own lives, its either one is in jail in a faraway country or the other one has been jobless for ages or still no husband after countless suitors would come, have numerous failed marriages or its either one thing or the other and out of all my mothers children I am the only that seems to doing OK, and this is mainly because of my husband, he has always been there for me  from when I arrived in the UK every other person including my siblings agrees except my mum and she has always been trying to cause trouble between myself and my husband saying he is not good for me and that he is using me even after having a baby for him who is just four months old now, my mum is indirectly telling me to leave my husband of two years that me and my four months daughter will be better off without him and that I will have grave consequences in the future if I do not leave him on time that I will always find someone else that will love me more.

Please readers tell what I should do, should I tell my husband that the little girl that I told him was my younger sister in Nigeria is my daughter or should I keep mute, please don't forget the first daughter does not yet know that I am her real mother. I know my husband very well and I think he will never forgive me nor will he forget and the way he acts sometimes makes me think he may already have had heard some of these stories about my mum because he has always been a very respectful person but now he doesn't have any single respect for mum and sometimes extends to myself, I know his trust for me has greatly diminished that makes me think he is still in this marriage only because of our four months old daughter, I am beginning to think he may be suspecting some things especially with my mum's background because its like he can see through my mum and I am also beginning to think that is the reason that my mum is trying to break us up before the truth comes out to save me from the kind of embarrassment she received the numerous times that she was found out. My mum may be a lot of things but I still love her dearly and I think I will still always love her.

I know telling my husband  this will greatly hurt him, but I don't want to hurt him that much also I don't want to lose him if he finds out or should I just enjoy while it lasts, last time I have similar situation like this was when I was in the university  but then we were just lovers, I cheated on him numerous times though he never caught me red handed but sometimes out of the blue he starts throwing hints here and there that only if he knew of my affairs that he would know of such things and I could not help but confessed to him, this damaged our relationship for a very long time and he was out of my life for a while then things returned to normal, he forgave me because he thought I told the whole truth and no secrets, he made me swear that I am not hiding anything else from him, the way he said it was almost like he knew about my past but I took a gamble and did not spill, he just smiled and said I love u then we got married shortly afterwards. He loves our baby girl so much that I am afraid the truth will deprive this young baby the enviable love of her father when the truth comes out, just like I myself lost out on my fathers affection due actions of my mother and I do not want this to continue to my daughter. Please honestly what should I do.
