Naval Officer Kills His Girlfriend's Baby; Sentenced To 10yrs Imprisonment
A General Court Martial that was convened by the Western Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy has sentenced a naval rating, Joseph Moses, to 10 years imprisonment for kidnap and manslaughter.
He was found guilty of kidnapping and causing the death of his child, Princess Moses, on February 2, 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The accused, who is an ordinary seaman, in company with six others, kidnapped the deceased from her mother, Glory Yusuf, in Ajegunle area of Lagos.
It was widely reported in March that the accused allegedly connived with others to kidnap his three-month-old baby from his concubine and threw her into the lagoon at Liverpool area of Apapa.
The accused was found guilty of all the three counts of kidnapping, murder and misconduct preferred against him.
However, a case of murder could not be established against him and the court amended the charge to manslaughter which is an alternative charge to murder under the Second Schedule of the Armed Forces Act.
In a statement signed by the Command Information Officer, Lt. Cmdr. Jerry Omodara, in Lagos on Monday, the naval authorities found Joseph guilty as charged and sentenced him accordingly.
The statement reads:
“Joseph was found guilty on count one, which is kidnapping and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He was also found guilty on count two, manslaughter, and sentenced to 10 years and two years imprisonment after being found guilty on count three, misconduct. The sentences are to run concurrently. The sentences are however, subject to confirmation by the Naval Headquarters.
“The Court Martial was opened to members of the public with several interest groups witnessing the procedure such as the media, office of the Public Defender and Lagos State Ministry of Justice. The accused was given the opportunity to defend himself and was represented by a lawyer from the Nigerian Navy and a civilian.
“The trial of the case according to NN is an indication that the service, while it will continue to reward gallantry and good behaviour has zero tolerance for indiscipline and will not shield any of its personnel that erred but will apply appropriate punishment.
“NN is determined to continue to ensure that its personnel are focused on the adequate protection of the nation’s territorial waters which is one of the key components of transformation agenda by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ola Ibrahim.”

What’s The Big Deal About Sex, Love, Romance?
Sex, love and romance are a big deal. Such a big deal, in fact, that there’s a whole industry built and focused on them.
No matter where you are, who you are, who you love, and how you love, there’s a day, a month, a concept, a parade, a book, or even a sub-culture that is tailored just for you; waiting and lurking to grab you in its clutches and sink its tenterhooks around your neck until you give in.
Now, I realize that may sound sceptical, but as they say; it is what it is.
Bringing this “culture” home to Nigeria is a whole other kettle of fish. As with pretty much everything else in our beloved motherland, ‘e get k-leg.’
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find that in my beloved Naija, the idea of romance can be far removed from what we are told it should be by the endless romance movies (be they from Hollywood or Bollywood), sappy music, and other messages that filter in through a variety of ways.
Romance in Naija might not be fresh red roses “just because” o; it may be your lady love surprising you with freshly pounded yam and your favorite soup after a rough day at work, or your partner putting oil in your car so your engine doesn’t knock while you’re driving to and fro Third Mainland Bridge. You might have to forget about dimmed lights and soft music playing as you make sweet love, because quite frankly, young lovers often have to settle for a quickie before the parents come home.
Nevertheless, I think we should talk about it. Let’s talk about the differences, the similarities, and the peculiarities of love, sex and romance in our corner of the world.

Man wants to re-unite with family after winning N1million on Star Game Show
This piece was not written by me...
Chinedu Agoh’s story is particularly touching. Here is a young man with a wife and a two-year-old son who earned N10,000 monthly as a driver in Aba, Abia State. After searching for work, he got another job as a driver, this time in a hotel in Enugu, with a monthly take home pay of N25,000. Chinedu packed his bags and relocated to Enugu. His wife, a student of Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, currently resides in one of the hostel apartments, near the school, with his son.
After sorting out his family, the young man resorted to sleeping in the “underground room” of the hotel where he is currently employed in Enugu. He said the place stinks, but he had no choice but to sleep on the bare floor, using ‘wrappers’ and ‘card boxes’ as mattress.
Then one night when he went out to relax, ‘shacked’ Star lager beer and won a raffle ticket to participate in the Star TV Game Show. To cut the long story short, three people won N1 million naira each on the third edition of the 2012 Star TV Game Show and Chinedu was among them. The other two are Chidiaka Onyeachonam and Abiodun Ali.
But what is very touching is that Chinedu wants to use the money to re-unite with his family. Hear him: “With this one million naira; I will pay for an accommodation for us to come back together as a family and open a bank account for my son.”
He obviously had kind words for Star. “Other brands make me sick but Star keeps me strong. Star is the leading brand. I love Star and appreciate the brand’s work as it keeps shining.”
I’m not yabbing o, but I think a typical Nigerian man will spend 900k to buy a car before even thinking of his family. That’s why I think ladies should pray for a man like this that will put the comfort of his family first.
How Corrupt Public Officers Are Buying Up PHCN
It seems being corrupt really pays in Nigeria these days. Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, says that majority of those winning the bids to acquire Power Holding Company of Nigeria and its assets have questions to answer.
Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, accused the National Council on Privatisation of selling out assets of the power generating company to those who have cases to answer.
He warned the buyers, which include a former military leader, to beware as they may face the consequences of having the assets revoked when they least expect.
Falana’s warning is coming after the council announced that some companies in which General Ibrahim Babangida, oil magnate, Femi Otedola and ex-Chief Executive Officer of the UBA, Tony Elumelu, have stakes, have won bids to acquire PHCN.
The bid for Shiroro Power Plc was won at a fixed annual fee of $23,602,484 and a commencement fee of $111,654,534.30 by North South Power Company Ltd in which Babangida has an interest.
Also Amperion Consortium, where billionaire businessman, Mr. Femi Otedola, has an interest, was announced as the preferred bidder for Geregu Power Plc with a bid offer of $132 million while Transcorp and Wood Rock/Symbion/Thomasen PSL Power Consortium, in which Mr. Tony Elumelu has a large interest, emerged the preferred bidder for Ughelli Power Plc with a bid price of $300 million.
According to Falana in a statement, “it is the height of shameful impunity on the part of the National Council of Privatisation to sell the PHCN to the unpatriotic individuals who have diverted and cornered public funds earmarked for the uninterrupted supply of electricity in the country.
“Bidding consortiums tied to retired military officers and serving political office holders are alleged to have been short-listed by the management of the National Council of Privatisation to buy the assets of the Nigerian people in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) at give-away prices.
“Apart from the embarrassing fact that retired public officers who committed serious economic and financial crimes have become so audaciously daring to the extent of openly engaging in money laundering by buying public assets, it is the height of shameful impunity on the part of the National Council of Privatisation to sell the PHCN to the unpatriotic individuals who have diverted and cornered the public funds earmarked for the uninterrupted supply of electricity in the country.”
Giving details, Mr. Falana accused the Council of selling PHCN assets below what they are worth.
“To add insult to injury the assets of PHCN including over 400 buildings and undeveloped properties in Lagos, Abuja and other cities in the country, thousands of plants, turbines, transformers, vehicles and millions of electric poles worth over N5 trillion are being undersold to corrupt ‘investors’ at a paltry sum of N200 billion.
“Aside the over $16 billion invested in the power sector under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration the recent review of electricity tariff has increased the revenue generated by PHCN from N96 billion to N300 billion per annum.
“To trade off such huge investments for the sum of N200 billion is tantamount to an economic crime of gargantuan dimension,” Falana declared while asking if the NCP wanted Nigerians to believe that in the course of investigating the ongoing suspicious transactions, it did not confirm that serving and retired public officers were linked with the companies short-listed to purchase the PHCN.
He said with the sack of former Power Minister, Barth Nnaji, no public officer should be allowed to buy PHCN with “stolen money being laundered through the dubious privatisation being conducted by the National Council of Privatisation.”

Update: 30 million Naira fee tears Charly Boy, Nigerian Idol apart!
I told you guys a few days ago that Charly Boy may be on his way out of the music talent show where he was a judge last season. I've been digging and sources close to the music reality show, which is scheduled to start shooting soon, said that the showbiz impresario is allegedly asking for 30 million Naira before he will be part of the judging panel for next season.
Charly Boy and the producers of Nigerian Idol have had several meetings in the past but they all ended in deadlock as the Area Fada is said to be insisting on more money.
I hear Optima Media Group, producers of NI, may soon be looking for a replacement for Charly Boy if they don't resolve their issues soon but hopefully they will. He brought so much to the show last year...

Argument Against Oral Sex
Early Thursday morning, see the email I got. Oshisko! *hiss* :-)
Dear AABLOG, I read a post where you asked why some people do not engage in oral sex. Here's my answer to you. When a women sucks up, tastes or swallows semen during oral sex, she is drinking the very essence of life. She is engaging in cannibalism and the man is engaging in facilitation of cannibalism. I know your next question is what if you have been impaired by way of female circumcision, how do you enjoy a sex life? Your husband can fondle you and you will enjoy intimacy that way. So I hope that you do not engage in oral sex and if you ever do you repent and turn a new leaf. Similarly a man should not taste the private area of a woman for the same reasons. Hope my answer satisfies you innermost queries. It is simply engaging in drinking of life/human blood both ways. Even when the private areas of a woman may look clean there are traces of blood for various reasons.Hopefully, some men do not agree with this. Keep doing what you do...we women appreciate it *wink*

Cynthia's murder: court grants two suspects bail, remands driver
A Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday Wednesday Sept 26th granted bail to two suspects arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Cynthia Osokogu. But the driver who was accused of driving the prime suspect to Cosmilla Hotel, FESTAC, was remanded in prison custody.
The suspects granted bail – Nonso Ezike (22), who is the younger brother to Olisaeloka, one of the alleged killers, and Ezeaka Chinonso (27) – were arrested by policemen at Area E for receiving and selling Cynthia’s BlackBerry phone.
Nonso’s lawyer, Mr. J. C Ngobili, told the court that the accused was a student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and prayed the court to grant him bail in liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr. P.A. Adekomaya, admitted that although the offences were bailable, he pointed out that the bail condition ought not to be too liberal in view of the circumstances surrounding Cynthia’s murder.
He granted Nonso and Ezeaka bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties must not be teachers or local government employees. He added that the sureties could be bank tellers.
The third accused person, Gideon Okechukwu, a driver, was however charged with eight counts of murder, rape, robbery, conspiracy, administering a harmful substance to the deceased among others.
Okechukwu had told PUNCH Metro before he was arraigned that he only drove the alleged killers from the area where the hotel was situated, adding that he had no role in Cynthia’s murder.
Okechukwu’s lawyer, Bello, prayed the court to also grant the accused bail, adding that he had been held at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The magistrate, who quickly interjected, explained that it wasn’t within the jurisdiction of the court to grant bail for such offences.
Okechukwu was remanded in Ikoyi Prison. The matter was adjourned till October 3, 2012.

Aerial view images of flooding around River Niger in Lokoja
The images were released by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and shows the extent of the flooding in the city caused by the overflowing River Niger, which is virtually cutting off the Northern part of the country from the South. A lot of small villages in Lokoja and Kogi will soon be wiped out if nothing is done soon. The flooding has left many dead, thousands homeless, and movement from one place to the other impossible.
The flooding started about two weeks ago after Cameroon released water from the Lagdo Dam.
The minister of works said that the level of water seen in the past two weeks has not been seen in the last 100 years.
The federal government has contracted three major construction companies to free the submerged Lokoja-Abuja highway from flooding...and NEMA is currently camping thousands of displaced flood victims.

Announcing details of the promotion at the press conference in Lagos, Acting Head of Marketing, Niyi Olukoya, said the first prize winner will go home with two 52-seater luxury buses, while the second prize will be won by three subscribers who will each go home with three 16-seater mini buses.
Nine lucky subscribers will win the third prize which is a fleet of 27 luxury taxis. Each of the winners will be presented with three taxis. The promotion is also offering a cash prize of N100,000 for 1,500 winners as fourth prize, Olukoya disclosed.

“We have since inception been at the fore-front of rewarding customer loyalty. We have offered different kinds of promotions and prizes. This time, we decided to go a step further not only by offering fantastic prizes unprecedented in the industry, but also by structuring the prizes in a way to empower our subscribers to be ‘made for life’, and become managers of their own businesses. With a fleet of two 52-seater luxury buses, three 16-seater mini buses or three luxury taxis, the winner is afforded a rare opportunity to start off a transport company,” Olukoya said, adding that the overarching objective is to create indirect employment in the Nigerian economy.
To ensure that the winners succeed in the transport business, he explained that Glo had concluded arrangements to provide financial management and wealth training for them. This, he noted, will provide them the skills to manage the business.
To qualify for the 16-seater buses, luxury taxis or the N100,000, the subscriber is expected to recharge with a minimum of N200, while a minimum recharge of N3,000 within the promotion period is required to stand a chance of winning the two 52-seater luxury buses grand prizes.
I am dating a man who’s 22 years older than I am
I am dating a man who’s 22 years older than I am. I am deeply in love with him. His sex is so good that I can’t resist. As soon as he touches me, I become soaking wet.
I have never liked the idea of dating older men but he has changed that perception, He is a very experienced man. Not only sexually, but very educated, decent a well spoken. He doesn’t trust me, he’s a control freak, I can’t leave the house without him thinking I have gone elsewhere.
He has sexually linked me with every male friend that I have either had a fling with them in the past or they are intending to have a sexual relationship with me. When we fight he hits and pushes me.Recently, he’s been in touch with his ex-girlfriend of 6 years.
I can’t tolerate that woman, she’s the reason why my boyfriend has had a divorce 3 times . She’s always popping into the picture making our relationship difficult. He’s always telling me he’s not in touch with her, I shouldn’t worry and he doesn’t love her. Recently, i have started noticing some changes in his behaviour towards me.
He doesn’t hold me, kiss me, give me attention, tell me he loves me and we don’t do things that we use to do. He goes out all day without calling me and will later give me some excuses.
This same week, i caught him on the phone talking to his ex- girlfriend of 6 years at 2am. As soon as I walked into the room, he chucked his phone away and had a very suspicious look, I cried my eyes out the whole night. In the morning he told me that he’s ignored her phone calls so many times that she couldn’t anymore.
He’s always having an affair with this girl even when he was married. If he can have a relationship with her while he’s married, who am i for him not to cheat on me with her? Could it be that they are back together? I think he’s cheating on me, I know he is not the right man for me because he doesn’t treat me like I deserved to be treated but I am deeply in love with this man. Do you think he loves Me? Should I walk away from this relationship?
I need your advice.

Patience Jonathan Didn't Make It To UN Assembly; Health Situation Critical
President Goodluck Jonathan arrived in New York on Sunday for the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly without the First Lady, Dame Patience, who is in a hospital in Germany, where she is presently being treated for undisclosed ailment.
Dame was expected to join her husband in New York for the UN Assembly, but a team of doctors attending to the ailing first lady in Germany warned of dire consequences on her health should she embark on the trip, under any guise.
It was also gathered from a competent Presidency source that President Jonathan and his wife had planned to use the trip to New York to prove critics wrong and end speculations about the health of his wife.
At the 66th session of the General Assembly last year, President Jonathan was accompanied on the trip by his wife, state governors and other top government officials.
However, since it was not possible for Dame Patience to attend the UN Assembly with her husband, based on what a source described as her critical health condition, Jonathan had to make a stopover in Germany to see his ailing wife before arriving in New York.
Dame Patience is spending her fourth week on hospital bed in Wiesbaden, Germany while the Presidency had kept mum over the health status of the first lady and has not issued any official statement on the matter.
Nigerians have been fed several lies about her true condition. The first lady's Media Aide, Ayo Osinlu, had said she was on vacation and had taken time to rest abroad after hosting the First Lady’s Conference in Abuja

Nigerians have been fed several lies about her true condition. The first lady's Media Aide, Ayo Osinlu, had said she was on vacation and had taken time to rest abroad after hosting the First Lady’s Conference in Abuja
Charly Boy leaving Nigerian Idol?
The third season of Nigerian Idol is about to begin and I hear one of the judges from last season, Charly Boy, might not be returning as a judge. I have no idea what's really going on between the Area Fada and the Idol producers but I know for sure that his name has so far not been included to the judges panel for this season. But there's no final list yet so I hope they resolve their issues (probably money wahala) and bring him back for this season.
Charly Boy is one of the reasons a lot of people I know watched the show last season....with all the things he brought to the show. He has to stay on mehn!

Update On Lagos Robbery: Members Of The Gang Arrested
Three armed robbery suspects - Uche Okeagbu, Emmanuel Ezeani and Chinonso Nwuangwu - have been arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos Command, in connection with the September 9, 2012 robberies in the state, which left three policemen and a civilian dead.
The suspects were arrested at their Ajangbadi hideout on September 23 following a tip-off.
The suspects were said to be members of a much larger group, which had about three weeks ago, carried out simultaneous robberies in Gbagada, Agege, Anthony, Ojodu, Itire, Ikeja and Ilasamaja areas of the state.
It was learnt that after 23-year-old Okeagbu was arrested, his confession led to the recovery of a large cache of ammunition, one rocket propel grenade launcher, 225 AK 47 magazines fully-loaded, over 10,000 rounds of AK 47 live ammunition, two general purpose machine guns, 260 rounds of GPMG live ammunition, five dynamite with detonator and nine AK 47 rifles.
A self employed oil dealer before his foray into armed robbery, Okeagbu said: “I was an oil dealer in Port Harcourt before a friend introduced me to this gang. I have been with them for a while and during the time, I went with them for four operations in Ibadan where I got N500,000 as my share. Another was in Uyo where I got N800, 000. I also got N800, 000 for the First Bank robbery at Share, Kwara State and N100,000 for the Lagos robbery. All these took place this year.
“In all these operations, the targets were banks which we robbed successfully. I never went with the group into the banks. I always stayed back with the driver in the car because I was scared but I didn’t go with the gang when they raided Lagos three weeks ago.”
A SARS team led by Mr. Abba Kyari, found the gang’s armoury in two Volkswagen buses with registration numbers LSD 467 AR and AGL 506 XB, parked at Okeagbu’s residence at Ajangbadi.
Also, Nwuangwu said he took part in four robbery operations at Diamond Bank, Akure, in Ondo State, UBA, Osogbo in Osun State, GTB Okene, in Kogi State and Skyebank, Auchi, in Edo State.
The 23year-old said, “I was merely the driver of the vehicles. I just drove them to whereever they had an operation...but I have stopped going with them for operations for a while now.”
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko, said the suspects were members of the gang that terrorised Lagos about three weeks ago.
“I would also like to say that since the September 9 robbery operations that the command has not recorded any other robbery incident. There have been robbery attempts in several parts of the state but these have been quelled by the police.
“I encourage the public to continue to come forward with useful information of any suspicious activity around them because that was how we got information on these suspects,” the police boss said

Minister of Information Talks Carelessly –David Mark
The Senate on Tuesday threatened to pass a resolution urging President Goodluck Jonathan to sack ministers who make unguarded statements capable of undermining the legislature.
Specifically, President of the Senate David Mark described Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku as a “careless talker.”
He said this while reacting to a statement credited to Maku. The Information Minister was quoted as saying, at the heat of the debate on the N5000 note, that resolutions of the Senate were not binding on the Presidency.
Mark, who spoke during a debate on the menace of flooding in the country, warned that henceforth any minister who smears the reputation of the legislature would attract its wrath.
The Senate President said, “Maku is a careless talker; he does not think properly before he talks. Maku cannot educate us but we are to educate him.
“The President should caution him and the President must call his ministers to order. Next time a minister talks any how about the Senate, we shall take a resolution that such a minister be removed.”
In another development, the Senate after an exhaustive debate on the menace of flooding, resolved to urge Jonathan to forward a supplementary budget to address the immediate needs of flood victims across the country.
The Senate also passed a resolution, urging the Federal Government to come up with a standard procedure to address future flood disasters.
Senator Smart Adeyemi (PDP, Kogi West) whose constituency is affected by the overflowing of River Benue, said National Emergency Managing Agency lacked the capacity to tackle the magnitude of the current disaster.
He explained that nine local governments in Kogi State were affected by the flooding with 1.9 million people displaced and farmlands destroyed.
Contributing, Senator George Thomson-Sekibo raised the alarm that the nation’s food supply was at risk, saying many of the affected areas were the nation’s staple food producers

Photo: Husband Sets His Wife On Fire With Burning Stove
A middle-aged man identified as Oladimeji Fowowe has been arrested by the police at Iju Police Station Red House, Lagos, for allegedly setting his wife on fire, when he threw a burning stove and hot water on her.
The suspect, who trailed his wife to Ijoko in Ogun State, where she had gone to assist her husband’s younger brother’s wife who had just put to bed a set of twins, committed the devilish act as soon as his wife returned home.
Speaking on her hospital bed at Ogba, Lagos State, the victim, Mrs. Oluwakemi Fowowe, said she left her husband and father of her three children, when his trouble and that of his mother became unbearable for her.
“I was at the passage facing outside not knowing that my husband had sneaked through the back door and the next thing I heard was a loud noise as he threw both the burning stove and a pot of hot water on me.
“My body caught fire and I ran outside, shouting for help before people assisted me in putting out the fire. I became unconscious before I was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors battled to revive me. I want all well-meaning Nigerians to come to my aid as I have no one to help me,’’she moaned in pains
Oladimeji was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police at Iju Police Station, where he was detained but he was later granted bail.
His wife’s family said he should not be sent to jail because of the three children his wife had for him. But he was advised to take care of the victim.
However, the wife’s family decided to press charges against him when he failed to honour his side of the agreement, to take care of the victim. He allegedly abandoned her in the hospital.
Oladimeji, who had earlier told the police that his action was the handiwork of the devil, has gone underground to evade arrest. The victim is appealing to well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid as she requires about N400,000 for the treatment of the burns

TWO NIGERIA LEBSBIANS TAKES IT PUBLIC
Seem since the bill on Gayism and Lesbianism in Nigeria homosexuals have been getting more public with their acts; reason seem far from known, but it is easier to believe that it is just a way of telling the Government they are here to stay.

I Parked Out Of My Marriage In The Middle Of The Night –Actress Opens Up
Over the years, this delectable actress has become a household name in the Yoruba movie industry. The beautiful chubby Ayo Adesasanya and her ex-husband, Goriola Hassan became a news item in 2009 when their relationship of about 8 years hit the rocks.
The University of Ibadan graduate has since moved on with life and things are obviously looking up for her. In a few weeks from now, Ayo’s ‘Amope Alasela”, a comedy produced by her will be on the movie stands all over the country.
She has finally opened up on why and how her marriage packed up, etc. etc...
What informs this gentleness about you which you exhibit?
I think it has to do with my nature. I don’t catch my trip being hyper or everywhere. I have a calm nature and I look well before I take my actions. That does not suggest ‘am an introvert. I talk and gist when I see people ‘am familiar with.
How do you handle male suitors as a star actress especially now that you are out of marriage?
That is true I have a couple of guys who want to go out with me but am mature minded and know how to handle men. There is a way you tell somebody “No” without being rude to the person.
Does that suggest you are in any relationship for now?
(laughs) Yes I am in a relationship.
Is it the same relationship that created so much attention about you dating an official of a parastatal like a year ago?Really? (laughs) I am in a relationship and ‘am enjoying every bit of the relationship.
Are you going to give marriage a trial?
If it comes why not? Definitely I will give marriage a trial. There are several level-headed men around. So I will give marriage another try someday.
Do you think you and your ex-husband, Goriola Hassan can reconcile?
Capital NO. I don’t see anything of such happening we are not just compatible. We can never reconcile, never.
What didn’t you see the incompatibility while you were together?
As human beings we are not perfect. We make mistakes and learn from our actions. Life experiences can come in the hard way or any other way.
What are the irreconcilable difference that is responsible for your not coming back?
His ways are not my ways. And I don’t think anyone in a relationship that is not bringing happiness should stay.
How many years did the relationship last?
The relationship lasted for about 8 years.
What does being out of the marriage leave you with?
It leaves me a happier person. I have also been able to discover myself. There are several things now I can do all by myself now than before.
How true is it that you parked out of the house in the middle of the night?
Yes, I parked out of the house in the middle of the night. I don’t want to relive my past.
You both have the same tattoo drawn on your arms. That obviously is a sign an attachment
(cuts in) I have started undergoing series of surgeries abroad to clear the tattoo off my body.
Does that not suggest efforts to get rid of anything about him?
I am just tired of having tattoos on me. I have mellowed now on all those stuffs. I am now more spiritual and my religious inclinations kicks against it.
What is the state of your relationship with your ex-husband?
I don’t want to go into that please.
Who is responsible for the upkeep of your son?
I don’t want to go into that for the sake of my son.
As a single mother, how do you cope with paying bills?
Don’t forget I work moreover God has been good to me.
Peradventure you decide to settle down, who is your kind of man?
He must be god-fearing. I mean a real god-fearing man because there are so many fake God fearing men around. He must also be humble even if he owns the world. Humility means a lot to me. He must also be cool and nice to me.
What if the man in your life demands your hand in marriage?
Of course, I will marry him. And no further comments on that please.
There are strong insinuations that the man in your life is married…
That is not true. The man in my life is single. He is 100% single.
He has never been married.?
Am not talking about the man in my life. He is single.
What do you like about him?
He is god-fearing and really understands me well including my short comings.
Are you cool with your status?
Yes am very fine. And I can pay any amount just to be happy.
So when is your son getting a junior one?
(laughs). Am not God oooo please
Pastors Pester Me With Sex –Tope Alabi Opens Up
Tope Alabi is a pioneer of some sort in the contemporary Yoruba gospel movement. Together with other gospel practitioners they have “pushed the envelope” in redefining the boundaries of Gospel, by blurring its ties to circular soundtracks.
Make no mistake; God is present in every song this beautiful wife and mother produce. From the groundbreaking success of nine albums to how she manages her male fans. The chat with EDIALE KINGSLEY is anything but boring.
WE are coming to another album launch, how has it been so far? And the journey to this particular album, how has it been? I bless the name of the lord, for giving me this opportunity, for taking me from mere clay to where I am today, I bless his holy name, this is the 9th album, and this is not a launching, this is an unveiling, we just want to unveil it, nobody is going to launch, everybody is just going to pick their own, just give anything you like, even #500 is not small, even 200naria is not too small, I just want to bless God for taking me this far, it has been so rough, tough and I have experienced a lot of things, turbulence, if I can say, but yet bless the name of God, for making me stand up to this present time.
Concerning the situation of the economy now, not just the economy, the state and Nigeria as a nation, the insecurity and everything, is there a place for your album?
Yes, we are unveiling two albums here today, Agbelebu and Alagbara, Alagbara talks about what is happening in our country and Agbelebu is talking about our own personal life, because at times you know we use to talk about our leaders, saying they are not doing it right, because they are not supposed to be there, but what about our own area? Have we done our own part? So everything in Agbelebu and Alagbara is what God said I should tell people and am sure that people won't be disappointed.
Two albums you said, considering the competitiveness of the music industry, I know Tope Alabi is a brand, I know she is not competing with another brand, how do you deal with the piracy factor?
There is nothing I can do, I believe in God. Talking about pirating and the rest, I would say, if you don't have any good thing, nobody will buy it, it's when you have a valuable product and people want to be blessed from your gift that they will even consider pirating and duplicating. Actually it's really killing artistes, it is giving us a lot of problem, but what can we do? If God has not said no to them, they can't stop, nobody can stop them.
How do you relax aside music, what other things do you do?
At times I just lodge in hotels for three to four days, at times I travel out, what I do most is watch films; I watch Yoruba films and American films.
What would you say about our Yoruba films now? When we talk about nollywood, I think Yoruba film is at the fore front, what do you think about the Yoruba film industry, most of them even use your music as sound tracks?
I think because there is no helping hand for them, you see them coming down little by little, it wasn't like this before, they ought to have grown more than this, government are not helping them, marketers are not helping either, I think that's why they are just there, and most of them are trying, that's why I don't want to leave them, aside that; God said I should not stop soundtracks, I don't want to leave them, because I know, some of the movies, my soundtrack is there, people want to buy it because Tope Alabi's music is in the film
Nine Albums is not by any chance an easy task so how have you coped and managed to come up with such an impressive feet?
It is God, He inspired me, God tells me what to do at every point in time, and it has been three years now since I have been on this particular album, I waited for God to talk to me, so it is God.
Who writes your music?
God, He dictates for me, while write down.
How do you get inspiration?
It is God, God gives me the inspiration, and this is what I want to tell my people this time around, like this Agbelebu, God gave me the title. There is no way that I would write that God won't tell me the title, I pray and do fasting; wait for God to talk, at times I would be in the rest room, he will be talking to me, at times I would be sleeping he would wake me up.
If you were to pick a particular song of all the tracks in the album, which would be your favorite?
I would say the best is yet to come
What about the particular one we have now?
This one we have now, I will pick the track Agbelebu itself and I will pick Alagbara. In the industry (especially gospel), do you think there is unity among the practitioners and stakeholders. There is unity, in the little way we can, I make friends with all of them, I invited all of them here today, and if you don't see any of them here today, maybe he or she doesn't feel like coming, the bible says make peace with them, we have a society like gospel artiste society, but it failed, they are trying to come together again. I know God will intervene one day.
Are we expecting a concert, when do we get something like a concert from you?
I will have a concert in December.
Any other thing we should be expecting in the nearest future?
Expect from me a music school and that will come up say; in 2 years time. we have gotten the land already, we are just trying to build the place now, we want to teach people how to compose, we want to tell them that, it is not your brain that will bring anything out, we want to tell them, that it is God that will inspire you, you see some gospel artiste, will be cursing him, because they don't know the meaning of the Yoruba, they are saying, we want to teach them God, who God is, they need to know their calling, some of them are not called to this area, they think they have the voice to sing, so they want to go into it, as if it is business, actually it is business, it is the business of God, but at the same time, you cannot do business with God anyhow.
Is it going to be restricted to gospel music alone?
No, it is going to be a music school, generally, but will teach them God too, when you are singing circular, you need to know God, singing circular does not mean you are a bad person, or you are going to hell fire, it doesn't mean, Shola is not singing gospel, but she is making it.
You have definitely impacted lives, you have contributed a lot into music, what has music done for you?
Music has made me achieve what God wants me to achieve, that is, bringing more souls to him that is the only thing I remember and am happy for, am happy my music is touching lives, God wants me to tell people something, they want to listen and hear me out, that is my happiness.
You look quite astonishing, you look young and beautiful, and do you get people coming to pester you for a relationship?
There are some of them that wants to get to you by all means, whether you want it or not, but when they get to me, they use to see am not that kind of person, they will now become a member of my church. The relationship is usually as if I have a church and they are members, so that's what they become. Among them are a lot of money bags, they help my ministry now, they see me as prophetess, some of them even call me pastor, even there are ministers of God that pester me and say they want to get to me, but when they get to me and they see I'm not like that, they change, you are there to change life.
For your fans out there, who wants to quickly get this particular album, what do you have for them, what do you have to tell them as they go out to get this album?
As you go out to get this album, I want you to know that all the things in the album, is for you, and don't believe that because Jesus has carried a cross, that you won't carry your cross, that is the meaning of Agbelebu. You need to carry your own cross, to get to your glory place you need to struggle, to strive, to carry your cross and I tell you, you will get there very soon, do everything in your power to get going, everything worth doing at all is what doing well. Do what you have in your capacity to bless lives. God bless you
Concerning the situation of the economy now, not just the economy, the state and Nigeria as a nation, the insecurity and everything, is there a place for your album?
Yes, we are unveiling two albums here today, Agbelebu and Alagbara, Alagbara talks about what is happening in our country and Agbelebu is talking about our own personal life, because at times you know we use to talk about our leaders, saying they are not doing it right, because they are not supposed to be there, but what about our own area?
God bless you
Lets Support The Opposition To Flush PDP In 2015 –Nuhu Ribadu
Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Petroleum and former Chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has called for a credible opposition to defeat the ruling PDP come 2015. AABLOG gathered
Calling on all Nigerians to support moves by the opposition parties to merge, Olufamous.com gathered that Ribadu said he is ready to give everything he has to bring positive change to Nigeris. He said the country needs urgent help in order to come out of its corruption and security related challenges.
Hear him: “I am 100 per cent in support of the merger move by the opposition political parties in Nigeria. I believe that there is the need for all the political parties in Nigeria to come together particularly those who are in the opposition.
“Nigeria is in dire need of a credible alternative to PDP. If the parties come together, chances are that they would be able to have a formidable party that will confront PDP and until that is done, hopefully, it will bring relief to Nigerians.”
The former EFCC boss, who was retired prematurely as Assistant Inspector-General of Police, also noted that the Nigeria Police Force is in tatters and should be urgently fixed for the nation to overcome its security and internal challenges.
The police must be reformed for peace to reign in Nigeria, Ribadu said.
“The issue of security is very clear. We have a constitution in Nigeria that says the organ or the government agency that is responsible for ensuring that we have security, peace and stability is the Nigeria Police Force. Work on the Nigeria Police Force, fix the Nigeria Police Force, it is their own responsibility, no one else.
“Today, however, the Nigeria Police Force is tattered. It is in bad shape. If we want to have peace, if we want to have a genuine sustainable peace in this country, law enforcement, rule of law, then fix the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
Ribadu stated that at the weekend in Kaduna
